Burton Mail Awards provide another two steps up for TwoTwenty

Foston-based TwoTwenty has done it again. The company, which designs and builds bespoke timber staircases, has been named as Business of the Year in the Burton Mail’s Business Awards 2016.

The Burton Mail awards recognise South Derbyshire firms which have made a difference to the community, cornered the market against the odds and won praise from clients and suppliers alike.

This latest award comes just a fortnight after the company was also presented with a national award for its business efficiency and performance at the British Woodworking Federation (BWF) Awards.

The company received the BWF Process Efficiency Award in recognition of new, efficient processes in the joinery industry which boost business performance and provide customers with the best possible products at the best price, quality level and delivery time.

Rapid growth

Ali Wright, director of TwoTwenty, said: “When we started TwoTwenty in 2004, our aim was simple: to give builders and merchants a hassle-free, straight-forward staircase design and build service. No more chasing orders and quotes on the phone, no more complicated and time-consuming processes. From on-site measurements and quotations to drawings and final delivery, we take everything off their hands.

“Ten years later, we decided to build a state of the art facility that would provide an exceptional place for our employees to work, a place we would be proud to show off, and one that would transform productivity and energy efficiency.

“Throughout the inevitable disruption of building work and moving over to the new site, we needed to retain all our staff and ensure our customer service did not suffer – in particular, maintaining TwoTwenty’s unique selling point of a two-week lead time on all orders which is twice the speed of the industry average.

“We achieved all this, and more. Both these awards means so much to us – they’re significant recognition of the results of everyone’s hard work and the impact on the success of our business.”
