Senior management appointments herald new era for Foston-based stair manufacturer

Foston-based staircase manufacturer TwoTwenty has announced the appointment of a new managing director and commercial director.

Scott Peden, who was TwoTwenty’s general manager, has been promoted to the role of managing director.

Scott joined TwoTwenty in 2006 and was instrumental in setting up the firm’s second factory in Kirkby Lonsdale, Lancashire. Before joining the firm he sold staircases for an independent builders’ merchant.

Ali Wright, founder and outgoing director of TwoTwenty, said:

“There is no other individual who knows our values, products, services and staff better than Scott. He is a capable person who has the passion to be able to drive the business forward to reach its full potential.

“I’m sure he will relish this new role. He is an excellent ‘doer’ and can communicate with all levels of staff, suppliers, customers and partners.”

Building on a strong reputation

Scott added: “TwoTwenty’s reputation for hassle-free customer service and high quality products is second to none. I am excited to lead our great team in building this reputation even further and driving the firm towards its ambitious growth goals.”

Jason Stain has also been promoted from sales manager to commercial director.

Jason joined TwoTwenty in 2007 as a sales rep covering Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire, becoming sales manager in 2015 and heading up TwoTwenty’s nationwide sales team.

Maintaining growth rates

Speaking about his promotion, Jason said:

“My focus as commercial director will be to ensure TwoTwenty maintains its record growth rates, while staying loyal to our values of providing exceptional customer service at all times.”

Commenting on Jason’s promotion, Ali said:

“As the business grows it is vital that we strengthen our team and achieving this through internal promotion ensures that we retain our core values.

“Jason has been manging the sales team for two years and knows our sales processes inside out. His new role will also see him close the loops in terms of internal administration.”

TwoTwenty designs and manufactures bespoke timber staircases for new build homes, conversions and renovations, selling mostly through independent and national builders’ merchants, including all of the top 10. It aims to deliver made-to-measure stairs to site within a couple of weeks, half the industry standard lead time. The company takes full responsibility from the start for the measure, design and bespoke configuration of the stair.
